I thoroughly enjoyed creating these studies in my urban garden. Or, yarden, if you will. I need outdoor space, I crave it. But our concrete yard was less than inspiring. After 8 years it's now a bee utopia, and I can use it as an outdoor studio when I'm not feeling so sharp.
This is hand painted cyanotype emulsion on to watercolour paper. In the style of Anna Atkins (botanist) I collected specimens from the yarden, placed them onto preprepared paper and exposed to sunlight for 10 minutes.
I like the deviations of the brush strokes along with the ghostly but detailed impression of the flora.
